Rumoured Collaboration Dolce and Gabbana - Supreme

American skate and streetwear brand Supreme was rumoured in 2018 to be collaborating with the Italian fashion house Dolce& Gabbana. Supreme did a collection with Louis Vuitton in 2017 which was highly successful and are very hard to come by. Neither supreme or D&G have confirmed this collaboration, however Stefano Gabbana re posted one of Supremes fan accounts picture announcing the collaboration. The picture said " Supreme will be collaborating with Dolce and Gabbana for the Fall/Winter 2018 season. Expect a nice collection with multiple pieces priced at the normal high-end range". Gabbana also shared a post from @supreme_leak_news which read: "Rumours have been spreading of a Supreme X Dolce and Gabbana collab recently. We are unsure wether this is going to be true but what would you make of this? What sort of items would you like to see?", this time Gabbana added a trio of love heart emojis. However Gabbana does have a reputation to be a mischief maker on social media and was only playing along with the rumours, however many fans were really excited to see what products and designs would be released and were very disappointed to find out it wasn't true.
I think that a collaboration with such a current and successful streetwear brand such as supreme would do the brand a lot of good. First of all it would extend their consumers into another branch of younger people and onto streetwear rather than just traditional luxury fashion. I think Dolce and Gabbana really need to start focusing on the next generation of consumers as their designs are still only aimed for middle age high class and traditional consumer. I think this would give them a new and exciting side to them and will increase their brand name and position.
