In the Spring collection of 2016 Dolce and Gabbana released a sandal named "Slave sandal" and has increased racist connotations of the brand. This sandal cost $2,395 and was made from leather. 


"The Spring - Summer collection 2016 was a declaration of love to Italy, told through unique clothing and accessories on an imaginary journey through the wonders of this country," Dolce & Gabbana's website says of its new line. After people disagreed with this they changed the name of the sandal to "Decorative Flat Sandal In Napa Leather With Pom Poms" however the word "slave" was still embedded within their URL's. This is yet another controversy that could have been avoided and should never of been released with the name "slave sandal", this will make people not want to bu from the brand as they don't support their racist ways.

Current: This brand positioning Map is where I feel the brand currently sits in the market against competitors. This map compare the quality and the price of the brand. I think Dolce and Gabbana has a high quality and a high price. However it is slightly cheaper than Prada and Gucci.  Proposed:  This is where I think my proposed brand D&G will sit against competitors in the market. I think it will be in the same area as competitors such as Moschino and Versus. It will be of a high price and high quality however it will be a lower price point than original Dolce and Gabbana brand.
