Dolce and Gabbana released a low top white trainer with a jewelled back and black laces, the shoe is covered in messages like "so fab" and "love you more" etc in a graffiti style. However it also said "I'm thin and gorgeous" on these $973 trainers. People took to social media slating the trainers and saying how it is only promoting the idea that you have to be slim to be pretty and attractive, as these trainers are aimed at young women and teens this isn't very responsible of the brand. They should be inclusive of all body images and push the message to this audience that they are beautiful no matter what.

In an interview with Yahoo Style, Claire Mysko, CEO of the National Eating Disorders Association said: “Though there may be an element of cheeky humour at play in the design of these sneakers, equating thinness and beauty with success and status is a message that hurts everyone.” She continued: "When the prevailing message is thin is good, gorgeous is good, that becomes our priority, often at the expense of our health and well-being.”
Stefano Gabbana took to instagram and responded to haters by saying "when idiocy distorts reality!!! incredible !!! next time well write LOVE TO BE FAT AND FULL OF CHOLESTEROL." This shows that the designer clearly isn't taking it seriously. although the design was probably meant to be light hearted and not intentional, Gabbana should probably react in a much kinder way and realise where the people are coming from. By acting like this yet again over social media he is just adding to the amount of people who dislike him.
