D&G embraces diversity in Milan.
In Milan fashion week 2018 Dolce and Gabbana was praised for having a diverse runway by WGSN. They said that the line up was extensive but more than that it represented the brands rallying call for fashion diversity. The show featured an all star cast but rather than just a bunch of celebs it was a cast that came in all different shapes and sizes.
Elle:
Whilst other cities have been falling behind New Yorks diverse lead in SS19 collection Dolce and Gabbana was picking up the slack in Milan with their diverse runway. The SS19 was a DNA themed runway complete with fingerprint invites and projections during the show. Dolce and Gabbana's message from this show is that everyone looks good in D&G clothes and they always will.

This kind of publicity is really good for D&G and is definitely beneficial to the brands image. They have perhaps been a bit behind the pother leading luxury brands when it comes to diversity but this shows that D&G are listening to what the consumers want and they want to see diversity and different ethnicities, ages, shapes and sizes. The message of this catwalk is a great message to show that everyone looks good in their clothes which will be very persuasive for consumers of any shape and size to come forward and buy their clothes. Dolce and Gabbana should continue this diversity on the catwalk in their future shows to continue this positivity.
