Models take selfies on the Dolce and Gabbana runway

In the Spring/Summer 2016 runway the models walked down the catwalk with iPhones and took selfies, the selfies were then projected onto a big screen and then they were posted on the Instagram page. The hashtags that went with this project were - "#DGselfie, #ITALIAISLOVE or #dolcegabbana".
All of the iPhones they were using had a matching case which went with their Italian Luxe look. The front row had large screen projectors that showed the selfies coming up as soon as they were taken, this was seen as a source of amusement but also a good way for the crowd to see a close up of the items and clothes. Dolce and Gabbana made sure that their catwalk was totally snappable the top of the catwalk was made to look like an Italian street fayre. Stalls were piled high with fresh produce and fruit and veg even finding themselves on the headpieces. This catwalk was fun and exciting and something that hasn't been seen before. It is a very clever and light hearted way of mixing up a traditional catwalk. Please follow the YouTube link to see the full catwalk.
I think this was really clever for Dolce and Gabbana as I feel as though it is very up to date nd current, it is an idea which most likely other brands will look to copy. It is a very clever way of engaging the audience and making people who aren't there feel as though they are there over the Instagram page and making sure that the product is promoted. I think Dolce and Gabbana should continue to come up with such technological and new ideas such as this to keep there catwalks exciting and people are waiting to see what they come up with next.
